This story had me in a chokehold. The twists and turns had me gaspingggg! The characters made my jaw drop with how good looking they sound, like WHEW. Not to pick favorites, but Xavien…that’s my baby!! If I could wrap him up in a bow and have him delivered to my doorstep for halloween…I would.

Now, this is a super fast paced novella so if you’re looking for more substance, try another book. This one is hot, crazy, and FUN and if you don’t want something fun...

There are several characters that you end up disliking because they are YUCKY. However, revenge happens and the world is safe and sound again with our warm albeit crazy HEA.

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars

My definition of a 5 star read:

10/10 read. Spice hit on all levels. Plot had me absolutely hooked. Happy to add this to my end of year ‘5 star’ list. Very likely a book that I would recommend frequently if asked about the category that it falls under.

This book was really fun. I needed a good pallet cleanser to get me ready for spooky season and this did it for me. The story starts off sad, then gets crazy, THEN throws you for a loop, and then ANOTHER, and then finally gives you the happiness you crave. Shoutout to Mel Reilly’s mind because the escape room vibe of the whole book was so cool. I’ve never read a story like this one and it definitely kept me on my toes! I swear that my brain barely had time to catch up lol!

WE HATE STELLA YA’LL. Not a fan. 0/10. Trash. BUT WHEN AURELIA FOUND OUT THE TRUTH AND GOT HER HANDS ON HER. It was party time! This is how I felt when Aurelia raged out at Stella. Like, get those punches in girly pop!

Let’s Talk Spice! - Vaguely (LOL)

So, this is eventually an MMFF, however there is an FF scene outside of the MMFF that was so good until it wasn’t. Not because it wasn’t hot or the author didn’t write it well. It was because it was perfect and exactly what I expected until Ms. Reilly gurl threw me for a LOOP with a truth bomb!!

The scene that had me shook for real isn’t spicy, but the FMC has “spicy related” feelings at the end since she’s being protected by her big bad boy, X. AND BOY. THE PUMPKIN CARVING SCENE. Mel said this was her favorite scene and I swear to everything I love that nothing could have prepared me for the “jack-o-lantern” scene LMFAO. I almost took a break because GIRL.

Overall spice gets a 5/5 from me!
