This story had me in a chokehold just like Roman had Alanis in the majority of this book.

I started reading this book and immediately couldn’t put it down. I stayed up so late reading until I finally had to make myself put the phone down and go to bed. As soon as I had the chance to pick it up again, I did and I had to finish it. I enjoyed this book so much.

Precious Legacy had me in my feelings. One moment I was happy as can be and then the next I felt so sad and found myself tearing up. There were moments of rage and there were moments that gave me goosebumps. Honestly, I think I went through every emotion possible.

Alanis and Roman were teenagers in love until one day Roman broke the very promises he made to Alanis. With her heart shattered, nothing could make the day worse, but when it rains it pours. Now years later, Roman is back and he will stop at nothing to get her back.

Alanis has grown up being a part of the crime syndicate The Five. Her father has always wanted her to be a part of the family business but she knows exactly what she wants and it’s not that.

I loved that her character pushed back and did what she wanted to do no matter what. Her character was strong and fierce but there was still this part of her that was broken. Her character had me crying and ready to go to war for her. Her heart was shattered when Roman left but her heart started to heal over time and pages. I really enjoyed her character but if there was one thing I could change it would be that she stood her ground more with Roman and not let him off the hook for things so easily.

Roman, oh Roman. You can choke me anytime. Five years ago, Roman left with his family to work alongside his father which is a part of The Five. Five years ago he broke Alanis’s heart… but really his broke too. Now, he’s back and he has one mission, get Alanis back.

His character had me obsessed and also ready to fight. One minute he’d say something that would make me gasp and then he’d say something that made me want to smack him. He was so protective of Alanis and I loved every minute of it. I just wish he wouldn’t have taken her revenge into his own hands. However, I’m glad that he felt so enraged that he would stop at nothing to protect her.

This story was so much fun. The action was good. The smut was amazing. The highs and lows between the characters made it so entertaining. Honestly, I am so invested in this family that I want to read the parents' stories. I cannot wait for Deviant Legacy to come out either because I already know I’m going to fall in love with Alvaro and Milo.

AND with that, I leave you with the exact reason I need book two.
